Anti-Racism Discussion Series: Leadership

Anti-Racism Discussion Series: Leadership In-Person

VIVA’s Anti-Racism Webinar Series was originally envisioned as a place for deep conversation as well as learning from experts, but the response to our first webinar in February 2021 about leadership in antiracism was simply too large - we had over 200 attendees - to allow for safe, focused, and structured discussions.  The Task Force has therefore developed a parallel series to the speaker-focused webinars that will provide a space for deep, expert-facilitated conversation. The first session will be held on Friday, July 30th from 12-1 pm.

We are so glad to announce that Dr. Jazz Jackson, Chief Student Success, Equity and Inclusion Officer at Thomas Edison State University, is able to facilitate this session for us.  Dr. Jackson will guide attendees through a discussion of the framework presented by Elaine Westbrooks in the first webinar of this series (slides: http://vivalib.libguides.com/ld.php?content_id=60206772 and presentation: http://files.viva.reclaimhosting.com/westbrooks-keynote-2021.mp4) in an effort to move toward meaningful and attainable individual actions.

There is a cap of 30 attendees for this event to ensure that it is a place for deep conversation.  Please note that this event is first-come/first-served, but we may need to restrict numbers of attendees from any given VIVA library so that we can serve our membership broadly.  The session will not be recorded; please only register if you are able to attend the session.  If you register and are ultimately unable to attend this session due to capacity issues, you will be prioritized for the next session in this series.
