2022 VIVA ILL Community Forum In-Person / Online

Please join us for the 2022 ILL Community Forum, which will be hosted at the Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA. This year's forum will be delivered in a hybrid format and attendees may register to attend virtually or in person. All sessions will be available in both formats.

Please note that breakfast will be available for in-person attendees at the Hotel Madison from 8:30 - 9:30 AM.

Travel:  VIVA will reimburse VIVA members from both public and private institutions for travel to and from this meeting.

Travelers needing to stay overnight must submit IN ADVANCE an Authorization to Travel form to the VIVA office (viva@gmu.edu). (See a sample authorization form here.) Lodging reimbursements for one-day events are typically only approved when the traveler resides more than a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the event venue.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Madison, attached to the Shenandoah Conference Center where the Forum will be held. Individuals are responsible for their own reservations and cancellations. Please use this link to make a reservation. For reservations made by phone, please contact Tori Bruce, Hotel Madison Sales Coordinator, at 540.214.2283. Please note that reservations must be received by June 13, 2022, in order to receive the group rate. After June 17, 2022, the group block will be released back to the general inventory of the hotel and the group rate will be accepted on a space-available basis only.

Parking & Directions: Self-parking in the adjacent Mason Street Parking Deck is available at $5.00 per car per day for both overnight and day guests. Overnight guest parking will be placed on each guest's folio; day guests may pay at the deck kiosk using a gate-issued ticket. Entry to the deck is located on MLK Jr. Way/Cantrell Boulevard. (The entrance off of Mason Street WILL NOT allow you to access the Hotel Madison and Shenandoah Valley Conference Center parking, you must use the Martin Luther King Way entrance.) Electric car charging stations are available complimentary. A pdf of the parking map is here. VIVA will reimburse you for your parking expenses.

VIVA Meeting and Event Policy: VIVA is committed to safely accommodating all attendees at our meetings and in-person events.  We will work with on-site partners to provide spaces and meeting support within current federal, state, and institutional guidelines, including, but not limited to, attention given to vaccination, testing, and mask requirements.  By attending a VIVA event, attendees agree to contact VIVA immediately if they or anyone in their household tests positive for COVID-19 within two days of the event.
